Ross Gibbs

Ross is the glazier and responsible for setting glass into traditional and astragal windows and doors. He glazes each product from the paint shop and uses triple layers of silicon to create a watertight seal to support each pane of glass and make the window weatherproof. The glass is usually thermal coated but single glazing is fixed with traditional putty.

Ross also attaches the beading in accordance with the customer’s desired profile and completes any detailing and finishing before a window or door leaves the workshop. “It’s a delicate business ensuring the glass doesn’t shatter or crack. I also weigh the sashes and ensure the lead counterbalances are the right weight so the window operates smoothly.” In his spare time, Ross enjoys mountain biking, traveling music, and gigs.
